Barberry (Berberis vulgaris) is a shrub common to Europe, Africa & Asia. Its edible berries & root bark (in capsules or tea) are used as topical washes, as a bitter tonic, or in tea blends, tinctures & extracts. Barberry root bark contains  vitamins & minerals, such as beta-carotene, lutein, zinc, vitamin C & thiamine.*

This herb has an approximate average of 6 cups per pound.

This product contains edible berries and root bark, which can be used in topical washes and as a bitter tonic. It is also commonly used in tea blends, tinctures, extracts, and as a topical skin wash. In Europe, it is highly valued for its properties as a bitter tonic. Use it in tea blends or to create your own tinctures and extracts.

Store in an airtight container away from temperature extremes and sunlight.

Root

Vitamin B6 supplements inhibit the effects of berberine. May interact with certain medications. Do not use if Barberry is you are pregnant. Can cause nausea or vomiting, convulsions, or erratic blood pressure. Do not take if suffering from heart conditions or respiratory ailments. Do not take large doses of Barberry and consult a physician before use. Not suitable for children under the age of two.
