Mullein (Verbascum thapsus), also known as Aaron's Rod, Great Mullein, Common Mullein, or even the Velvet Plant, can reach an impressive 6 feet tall and is native to Eurasia~ though it's naturalized all around the world. It has two growth phases: the first year, it's a large and fuzzy rosette; the second year, it becomes an amazing flower-clad wand! Best of all, it's easily grown in clay, gravel, or loam~ so long as it gets enough sun and ample-but-moderate H2O. And planting? Piece of cake: sprinkle the seeds on the soil, press 'em lightly, keep 'em moist and in the light~ voila: rapid germination! Finally, give 'em their space and thin/transplant to two feet apart.
